The purpose of preventive dental care is to prevent cavities, gum disease, and enamel wear along with other many detrimental dental issues.
Keeping your teeth and gums healthy is our priority at Beussink Family Dentistry. In addition to helping your overall health, we can help you stay cavity free, disease free, and in the long run, keep your costs down with preventive services.
How to Sustain Oral Health
There is much you can do on a daily basis at home to prevent issues. Brushing twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste, flossing daily, and eating a low-sugar diet are very important in preventive care.
However, an important step to maintain oral health is a routine dental cleaning. At these check-up visits a hygienists will clean your teeth, take your cavity detection x-rays, followed up with a thorough exam by Dr. Beussink.
We have also added new technology with the ability to take intraoral pictures that aids the patient to view what the doctor is seeing.
The Role of Routine X-Rays
The reasons for routine x-rays are to detect problems in areas that are not visible to the human eye. Such areas are in between teeth and under existing dental work. We use digital technology, which means very little exposure of radiation for the patient.
Regular check-ups should be scheduled at least every 6 months to maintain optimum dental health. Call and set up an appointment today!
